EPISODE 1 - THE FAILED GLOBAL WARMING MEET

Updated: 6 days ago

News anchor: The 12th annual meeting on global warming, organised by the United Nations in Seoul, has concluded without any concrete outcome. However, it is being hailed as a massive success for shattering the world record for the most selfies taken at a diplomatic event. Internal sources suggest the primary accomplishment was fostering camaraderie through shared laughter over perfectly captured moments.

We now turn to our reporter, who is reporting live from the venue.

News Anchor: Hello, Muskan. What is the atmosphere like at the venue?

Reporter: Hello, Ronak. I am standing in front of the venue. The meeting concluded 15 minutes ago, and we are currently waiting for the delegates to exit. There is a positive atmosphere, as indicated by the smiles on the organisers' faces.

News Anchor: We anticipate being able to interact with several delegates shortly. Muskan, there appear to be environmental protesters behind you. What is their mood?

Reporter: Ronak, we have Michelle with us, one of the persistent designer-banner-waving activists who has been protesting at the global warming meetings for the last 7 years. Let's talk to her. "Hello, Michelle. How are you feeling about the meeting that just concluded?"

Michelle: Hey. We are delighted to be here for the eighth consecutive year. Eight years, eight different countries. Overall, a vibrant and satisfying experience for our group of professional environmentalists.

Reporter: I observe that members of your group appear content. However, do you believe that the ongoing inconclusiveness of these meetings undermines your cause?

Michelle: See, non-resultant protests are routine in the life of a professional protester. Politicians are doing their work, and we are performing our acts. Right now, we are taking South Korea's rich culture and lots of potentially viral videos to create great Instagram reels with us. Let me tell you about a personal positive gain for me. Visiting and protesting in eight countries is considered a fantastic feat in our line of work. So, a great addition to my professional protester curriculum vitae.

Reporter: Congratulations, Michelle, on another successful trip. Best wishes for your visit to Delhi next year.

News anchor: Muskan, delegates are now exiting the venue. Let us proceed to engage with them.

Reporter: You are right, Ronak. First to come out with waving hands is the leader of the Communist Party of China. “Sir, how was the meet? According to the perspective of your country, China.”

Chinese politician: Absolutely positive for us. I was able to bond with representatives from many countries over economic and financial relations. In particular, a few African countries are already on the board to receive loans from us. We in China always stand up for good causes.

Reporter: Sir, but the meeting's agenda was focused on pollution and global warming.

Chinese politician: Ha ha ha. I completely forgot about that. We will definitely tackle these issues in the upcoming meeting in Delhi, India. These points must be discussed in the right place, and nothing could be more perfect than Delhi, one of the most polluted cities in the world.

Reporter: As observed, Ronak, the Chinese delegation appears highly satisfied with their achievements at this year's meeting.

Anchor: Are we able to speak with any of the Pakistani delegates? Their perspective is of significant interest to the Indian audience.

Reporter: Ronak, he seems to be busy giving interviews to Chinese and Turkish media. Till then, let's talk to our Indian delegate. “Sir, where do we stand on the issues of pollution and global warming after this inconclusive meeting?”

Indian delegate: After listening to all the debates and discussions, our belief grew stronger that these issues can be addressed only under the guidance of Indian leadership. Right now, we have all the reasons for being happy, as next year we will be showing the colours of Indian hospitality to the whole world.

ree

Reporter: Sir, do you have a positive message for our viewers?

Indian delegate: I want to say only one thing. India will welcome everyone from every corner of the world with great warmth for the next annual meet on global warming.

Reporter: Sir, could you please provide a message regarding global warming?

Indian delegate: We will have enough time to discuss that in a detailed press conference. I need to catch a flight to Brazil to be a part of an event on the global crisis of alcoholism.Till then, padharo maare desh.

Reporter: Ronak, finally, we have a member of the Pakistani delegationof course, an army commander —with us, along with his translator. “Sir, what are your takeaways this year? Pakistani army commander, I can proudly say that we are the biggest beneficiaries of this year's meeting.”

Reporter: Could you elaborate on that, sir, given that you did not contribute any points during the debate?

Pakistani army commander: Listen, there is a thing called diplomacy. We are delighted with our communication skills behind the curtains. We have successfully convinced our Chinese and American partners that the sole cause of global warming in our region is, of course, India. It is India's fast-paced industrialisation that is causing these issues in the subcontinent. I can proudly reiterate that we are an industry-zero country, no industries, no infrastructure, no global warming.

ree

Reporter: Ronak, the Pakistani army commander, is being escorted away by two soldiers and is unable to provide further comments. We now have the United States' representative with us. Sir, what are your comments on this inconclusive meeting?

American politician: Who says it is inconclusive? In our great American heart, we have already concluded that in the next 30 years, the USA and its European partners will cut their carbon emissions by an impressive 3.527%. In a decade, we aim to pressure the remaining other nations to bring it to nearly zero. I am personally happy for others, as this meeting gave the rest of the representatives an excellent opportunity to take photos with me. Now come, let's have a picture together.

ree

Reporter: Ronak, this concludes our coverage from Seoul. This was reporter Muskan Sharma with cameraman Happy Verma.

Anchor: As observed, the inconclusive annual conference on global warming has satisfied various segments of the community. We remain committed to providing positive news coverage.

Next week, we will report on developments in the conflict zone between Israel and Iran, including the potential for nuclear escalation. Until then, remain optimistic.

To be continued….
